Sanmina India receives Golden Peacock national quality award In electronics

USA: Sanmina Corp., a leading integrated manufacturing solutions company making some of the world’s most complex and innovative optical, electronic and mechanical products, has been named the winner of the prestigious Golden Peacock National Quality Award in Electronics for 2012.

Competing with more than 320 applicants, Sanmina India was selected as the winner in the “Electronics” segment after months of rigorous audits of the company’s processes, systems and manufacturing capabilities. The judging was conducted by a panel with representation from the industry and government, headed by Dr. Ola Ullsten, former Prime Minister of Sweden.

“The Golden Peacock Awards are highly respected both nationally and globally, and it is a great honour to be recognised for excellence in quality, a cornerstone of Sanmina’s approach to business and customer service,” said Muthu Sivan, VP and MD of Sanmina India. “The selection process and standards are extremely stringent, and winning this award recognises the dedication and focus of our team in Chennai, providing customers with world-class quality throughout all aspects of our operations.”

The Golden Peacock Awards (GPA) were established in 1991 by the Institute of Directors and has become one of the most coveted corporate excellence awards in the world. The awards are focused on driving excellence in quality, innovation, training, governance, environmental management and corporate social responsibility.

Sanmina’s state-of-the-art facilities in India offer design and manufacture services for the aerospace, medical, communications networks, enterprise computing, multimedia and smart infrastructure markets. The facilities are certified to ISO/TL 9000, AS9100 C and ISO 13485-2003, among others.
