LG Electronics demos IPS technology, ultra HD technology

USA:  LG Electronics USA unveiled its broad 2013 line of digital signage products at Digital Signage Expo 2013 (booth 500), led by the industry's first 84-inch class "Ultra High-Definition" 4K digital signage display.

Visitors to the LG booth will be have the opportunity to interact with LG's business-to-business (B2B) solutions for multi-touch displays, transparent displays, outdoor signage and new commercial applications for airports and retail settings.

"From stunning Ultra HD solutions for retail to 'shine out' technology for outdoor displays, LG continues to advance the digital signage sector," said Y.K. Cho, B2B senior VP, LG Electronics USA. "The outstanding product line-up showcased at DSE demonstrates LG's superior display technology and solutions for a wide-range of real world commercial applications."

LG's flagship digital signage monitor for 2013 is its 84-inch class (84 inch diagonal) Ultra HD Signage Display. Boasting pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160, four times higher than Full HD displays, it offers the sharpest picture available on a large-screen display. The massive display is already attracting attention in the first-ever installation of 4K digital signage at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport.

Integrated into all LED models, including the 84-inch class Ultra HD screen, is LG's In Plane Switching (IPS) panel technology that helps ensure accurate color saturation and contrast at wide-angle viewing (both horizontal and vertical), resulting in a display with great picture quality that can be installed at virtually any angle or height.

LG's unique display technology also provides a temperature tolerance of up to 230 degrees Fahrenheit (110 degrees Celsius), which helps alleviate a common problem of screens overheating, affecting picture quality.

"As the use of digital signage continues to expand, the importance of image quality and color accuracy is increasing as well," said Dan Smith, director of Digital Signage, LG Electronics USA. "LG's IPS LED displays allow for faithful product representation across the digital signage medium – raising the standard for digital signage."

LG solutions demonstrated at Digital Signage Expo 2013 include the world's first Ultra HD digital signage, stunning outdoor displays, versatile ultra-wide signage, expansive video walls, high-end pro-grade digital signage and LG EcoSmart features.
