CHINA: The 1st China Information Technology Expo (CITE) launched at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on April 10.
The grand event, jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the municipal government of Shenzhen, features a combined show space of over 100,000 square meters.
More than 1,200 exhibitors are attending with their latest products, 15 percent of which are foreign exhibitors. Over 2,000 new products are displayed. The event, the largest comprehensive electronic information show in Asia to date, involves technologies from the entire electronic information industry chain.
China has become a globally important source and market for the research, development and production of electronic information products. China is the number one market worldwide for the output of computers, handsets, color TVs and dozens of components.
Shenzhen, a pioneer of opening-up and reform, is a key player in China's electronic information market and home to many leading electronic information companies. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology cooperated with the Shenzhen municipal government to hold this leading Asia-based show with global influence.
The show attracted wide participation from large and highly competitive medium and small enterprises from all sectors of the industry. Exhibitors include CEC, Lenovo, Haier, Hisense, BOE, Changhong, TCL, Coolpad, Kingdee, MediaTek, Spreadtrum, Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics, SMIC,CSOT, AU Optronics, Agilent, Rohde & Schwarz and Mitsubishi Chemical, among others.
