Mellanox announces availability of UDA 2.0 for Big Data analytic acceleration

SUNNYVALE, USA & YOKNEAM, ISRAEL: Mellanox Technologies Ltd, a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage systems, announced the release of Unstructured Data Accelerator (UDA) 2.0 for Big Data analytics systems.

UDA extends Mellanox’s I/O capabilities of low latency, high-throughput, low CPU overhead and Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) into the Big Data software infrastructure for optimizing Big Data applications efficiency and scalability. With Mellanox UDA, users can accelerate Big Data analytics by 2X, allowing them to respond faster to market trends. UDA also enables higher scalability with linear performance gain, more jobs/sec and lower total cost of ownership.

“Big Data analytics has emerged as a game-changer in the industry and will be an important core competency for large enterprises and organizations,” said David Barzilai, VP of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Mellanox UDA 2.0 delivers exceptional value to enterprises by providing them the ability to accelerate Big Data applications and by enabling them to process data at extreme speeds to support strategic decisions that help maintain their competitive advantages.”

Big Data analytics requires parallel execution and distributed file systems in order to effectively handle and manage the database. Mellanox UDA does not require any modification for existing application and usage models and instead provides the middleware interface directly to Mellanox high-speed InfiniBand or Ethernet I/O solutions.
