NI hosts NIDAYS 2011 in Bangalore

BANGALORE, INDIA: National Instruments (NI), a technology pioneer and leader in Graphical System Design hosted ‘NIDays 2011’, the Graphical System Designer Summit in Bangalore. The Summit announced the launch of the latest NI LabVIEW 2011 for the India market.

The NI LabVIEW 2011 is the latest version of the graphical programming environment for design, test, and measurement applications. Speaking to a record crowd of more than 1000 engineers and scientists, NI executives and engineers demonstrated the new features of LabVIEW that helps to increase efficiency and productivity.

Jeff Kodosky, NI Business and Technology Fellow, Co-Founder and “Father of LabVIEW,” began the keynote by discussing the history and future potential of LabVIEW. He said: “When we started out 25 years ago, we sought to create a tool for scientists and engineers that would be immensely productive, LabVIEW made it possible for engineers to do it faster and at a lower cost. In the next 25 years, LabVIEW will define and deliver on the vision of graphical system design to speed the design, prototyping and deployment of all kinds of measurement and control systems.”

LabVIEW 2011 has improved stability and includes numerous features taken directly from user feedback. It can dramatically increase development efficiency through new engineering-specific libraries and can easily interact with almost any hardware device or deployment target. The latest version can integrate tightly with high-performance modular instrumentation to provide a unified platform for meeting engineering challenges in every industry.

With the acquisition of AWR Corp., the complete suite of AWR design tools, along with a complete RF testing platform from NI, will provide customers a solution to decrease the time to market of their RF designs. The acquisition of Phase Matrix Inc. (PMI) brings key RF talent, technologies and manufacturing capabilities to NI and will increase the capability of NI products in high-frequency RF and microwave applications.

An enthusiastic Baskar Ceri, MD, Apna Technologies, stated: “It was dream come true for me to meet Jeff Kodosky, the father of LabVIEW. LabVIEW with NI hardware made it possible for them to design and prototype anything from medical devices to 3D displays to industrial robotics. I have been empowered by LabVIEW to do anything in this universe. Today, I do not see anything impossible with LabVIEW, LabVIEW extends my imagination beyond limit. With minimal budgets and within weeks, NI tools can create what would have demanded far more time and money using traditional tools.”

The conference saw the participation from NI customers and partners, NI engineers demonstrated the dynamic productivity gains that can be achieved by using the NI approach to graphical system design. Among the many industry leaders and LabVIEW experts were speakers from Xilinx, NAL, Schneider Electric who, through advanced technical session’s also demonstrated testament to the use of NI graphical system design solutions in various industry-specific applications.

The conference hosted various technical sessions, expert speakers, hands on sessions and live demonstrations on how to gain competitive advantage and gain accelerated time to market through LabVIEW.
