Bruker releases SHS-40 automated headspace sampler

MUMBAI, INDIA: At the analytica AnaCon India conference, Bruker announced the release of its newly developed SHS-40 Automated Headspace Sampler. Headspace analysis in combination with Gas Chromatography (GC) or Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) is a powerful technique and an essential tool for analyzing potentially toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in a range of sample materials and matrices.

The SHS-40 is a compact, cost-effective and automated headspace sampler for Bruker’s GC and GC-MS product lines which are widely utilized in the pharmaceutical, food testing, fuel and energy, and polymer industries in key analytical and quality control operations for the analysis of a variety of VOCs.

The SHS-40 is a fully automated, productivity enhancing sampler that can be readily integrated into a Bruker 400-GC Series or SCION Series GC-MS system. The SHS-40 is a robust headspace sampler that can be configured to simplify method development and minimize operator intervention, and is capable of being utilized in a number of important regulatory methods for the analysis of VOCs in various types of products.

The SHS-40 provides a large sample capacity, and can be configured in several modes of operation to handle either fixed volume or press and inject methods. Equipped with various sample temperature control options and an electrically actuated six-way injector valve (VICI), the SHS-40 can facilitate the analysis of even the most challenging VOC samples in either routine operations or more exploratory analyses.
