BANGALORE, INDIA: MindTree Ltd has launched MWatch, an Integrated IT Infrastructure Management Services Platform. MWatch provides CIOs and IT Infrastructure Managers with a built-in monitoring and management tool encompassing their entire infrastructure from desktops to servers, increasing IT and service efficiencies and reducing costs.
“There is a plethora of disparate tools and processes today to manage different elements of any IT infrastructure, resulting in fragmented and inefficient operations,” said Ram C. Mohan, SVP and Head, Infrastructure Management & Technical Support, MindTree. “MWatch is a secure platform that facilitates consolidation and provides a complete view of the infrastructure, enabling CIOs to optimize IT performance, streamline work flows and eliminate unnecessary expenditures.”
MWatch is an intelligent service enabler for MindTree’s managed services and is available for both on-premise and cloud based infrastructures. Its deployment is backed by MindTree’s built-in security framework, ENACT (Environment Access Control terminal). The platform is based on ITIL v3 guidelines with event, incident, problem, configuration and change management integrated with service desk support.
It features a correlation engine and a built-in knowledgebase, which maps infrastructure elements to specific services for proactive problem solving. This platform will help CIOs get an analytical insight on their IT spend and will also offer compatibility with third party tools to protect investment. MWatch automates standard operational activities, eliminating daily manual processes and errors. It also improves governance with a common dashboard for services, intelligent integration of a federated database, enterprise-wide pre-processed reporting, and framework compliance tracking.
David Roth, MD, Information Technology, The Carlyle Group launched MWatch at Bangalore. He said: “We expect the monitoring and management capabilities of the MWatch platform, with its ITIL processes, and MindTree’s 24x7 support, deliver tremendous value to the IT infrastructure of The Carlyle Group. We plan to leverage the platform to manage our servers and core applications around the globe which will allow us to increase operational efficiencies and stability.”
Biswajeet Mahapatra, research director, Gartner, said: “Customers can derive more value from BSM tools that have a good service modeling capability that can be enhanced and extended by integrating other existing IT Operations tools and products. This enhancement and extensibility is only possible when it backed by good experience and expertise in implementation and integration of infrastructure and application management.”
