PORT WASHINGTON, USA: The NPD Group, a leading market research company, announced that it is providing financial, strategic and other support to In-Stat, which provides market research and analysis for the mobile and digital entertainment industries.
NPD’s mobile market research and entertainment offerings include sales and consumer tracking for mobile phones and accessories, movies and music, as well as tracking of overall entertainment trends in America.
In-Stat was recently purchased by its management from former parent company, Reed Elsevier. In-Stat’s business focus is strategically aligned with that of NPD. Its analysis of the mobile Internet and digital entertainment arenas complement NPD’s consumer tracking services and are comparable to its analyst services for the flat-panel display industry and solar photovoltaics, available through DisplaySearch and Solarbuzz, both NPD Group companies.
“We are enthusiastic about working with and supporting In-Stat and continuing to raise the level of quality information available to these rapidly evolving industries,” said Tod Johnson, CEO of The NPD Group. “NPD’s and In-Stat’s analyst services are well aligned, and together we can offer broader and deeper knowledge to support better business decisions. NPD is always looking for strategic opportunities such as this one.”
“We believe that by being independent, we will be able to better serve our customers, and are pleased to have NPD’s support behind us in this new endeavor,” said Mark Kirstein, CEO of In-Stat. “Their years of industry experience and expertise in the market research arena will provide us with a critical resource for realizing our vision.”
