MUMBAI, INDIA: ESET has secured its fourth “Advanced+” award in performance testing from AV-Comparatives, an independent research organization. ESET tops the list of 20 antivirus brands as the product with the least footprint on the system.
The latest test measured the impact on system performance of 20 antivirus products. In addition to receiving the highest possible number of “Advanced+” awards in performance testing, ESET has received more “Advanced+” awards in retrospective tests than any other vendor. AV-Comparatives provides a three-level ranking system of “Standard,” “Advanced” and “Advanced+” awards.
“Over the years and throughout different tests, we’ve seen that ESET develops high-performing security solutions that have a small impact on system performance. Receiving once again the ‘Advanced+’ award in our most recent performance test is further validation.” said Andreas Clementi, founder and chairman for AV-Comparatives.
“Additionally, ESET has always understood the importance of strong heuristics in fighting malware and continues to be the vendor with the most amount of ‘Advanced+’ awards in AV-Comparatives heuristic detection tests.”
ESET's industry-leading products, including the popular NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Smart Security, ESET Cybersecurity for Mac and ESET Mobile Security, deliver significant improvements over traditional solutions in the marketplace today. Using ESET’s advanced ThreatSense® smart-scanning technology, ESET proactively protects from new attacks and eliminates both known and unknown viruses, trojans, worms, adware, spyware, rootkits and other Internet threats.
“Today, a device with an operating system, PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet can easily get infected by viruses and malware. One should understand that a device without any protection is not a safe place to store your most valuable information, personal or business, or do banking transactions or to pay bills! When I hear people complaining that any antivirus software slows down the system, I simply make them install ESET products and try for at least one day. It works: they change their mind,” says Pankaj Jain, director, ESET India (ESS Distribution (P) Ltd).
