As per the IMRB report, the Internet usage in smaller towns in India continue to spike their dominance over top eight metros with a combined usage of more than 60 percent, clearly indicating that penetration of the Internet in semi urban areas is on the rise. With the Indian vernacular online audience growing at a rate of nearly 40 percent per year there is a strong demand for internet services and content in local languages.
Today, Yahoo! Mail reaches to 42 percent of the Indian Internet audience.
