TOKYO, JAPAN: Toshiba Corp. has re-inforced its business structure in the Philippines with the start of full-scale business operations by Toshiba (Philippines) Inc., a newly established sales and marketing company.
Strong consumer confidence and spending has fueled a steady expansion of the Philippine economy in recent years, and is now providing a boost for the consumer electronics market, including LCD TVs, notebook PCs and value-added home appliances. Forecasts for 2011 promise market growth of 100 percent for LCD TVs, 24 percent for notebook PCs and 8 percent for refrigerators.
Toshiba has long separately promoted its digital consumer product and home appliance businesses in the Philippines, with products in each category brought to market through local sales representatives and distributors. By establishing Toshiba (Philippines) Inc. as a unified sales and marketing company providing nationwide market coverage, Toshiba has put in place a dedicated, Philippine-centric business structure that will promote the development and delivery of products customized to meet the needs of customers in the Philippines.
Moving forward, Toshiba will further refine its organization in the Philippines by consolidating customer support and service for all consumer products, a move that is expected to raise customer satisfaction.
By establishing a new sales and marketing company in the Philippines, Toshiba Group will open the way to reinforcing and expanding a comprehensive range of businesses in the country.
