Emerson Network Power launches first fanless embedded computer featuring second generation Intel processor

HONG KONG: Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity, announced its first fanless embedded computer to feature the 2nd generation Intel Core processor.

One of the first of its kind in the industry, the KR8-820 is ideal for variety of applications including digital signage, intelligent kiosks, medical carts and gaming machines. An innovative grooved metal enclosure transfers heat from inside, acting as a heat sink and removing the need for a fan.

The Emerson Network Power KR8-820 features the 2nd generation Intel Core i5-2510E dual-core processor running at 2.5 GHz to provide a significantly improved power/performance ratio over previous generation processors for both general and graphics processing. Featuring 4GB DDR3 memory and an 80GB solid state drive in a robust metal enclosure, the KR8-820 has no moving parts to ensure long-term reliability.

It is fully Intel vPro certified, providing robust security and remote management capability for trouble-free deployment. Measuring just 200 mm x 250 mm x 70 mm (7.87 x 9.84 x 2.76 inches), the KR8-820 can be wall mounted or mounted within a larger cabinet or kiosk for operation in an environment of zero to 35 degrees Celsius.
