Aegis to showcase industry’s first iPhone/iPad app for manufacturing operations

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, UK: Aegis Software will showcase inSite, the industry’s first manufacturing app for iPhones and iPads.

With inSite, these smart devices become mobile portals for Aegis’ Manufacturing Operations Software, putting a vast range of manufacturing and traceability information literally into the hands of engineers, supervisors and managers whenever and wherever they need it. Visitors to the Aegis booth will be entered into an iPad giveaway to celebrate this ultimate factory speed, control and visibility solution.

inSite brings simple, instant, and mobile access to quality, WIP, performance, and traceability. Forward traceability information from serial numbers and reverse traceability information from material lots and part numbers is immediately available for viewing. Recall containment time can be minimized by emailing reverse traceability data direct from inSite.

Active WIP, shipment information and process bottlenecks all become instantly visible. Drilling down into Paretos, detailed bar graphs and, further, to individual component connection and pin levels is also possible. Even actual product CAD images can be displayed for easier visualization on users’ devices.

Aegis has been delivering leading technology manufacturing operations software since 2000. They were the first to offer a web-based MES system, and the first to use IPC standards for machine monitoring. MOS is still the only single system to span the entire production process from NPI through shop floor control, materials verification, quality and test to packout, backed throughout by dashboards and reports easily configured by the customer.

Now, with inSite’s introduction, Aegis Manufacturing Operations Software’s production and quality reporting power has become available as an iPad and iPhone app free to Aegis customers through the Apple App Store.
