Envivio Genesis architecture reshapes multi-screen video delivery

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, USA: Envivio, the leading provider of live and on-demand multi-screen IP video processing and delivery) solutions, will unveil its new Envivio Genesis architecture for video head ends and Content Delivery Networks (CDN) at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo (booth 1537) Oct. 20-22 in New Orleans.

The visionary new solution relies on two essential components: the Envivio multi-screen head end for high quality audio/video processing and compression, and the Envivio Network Media Processors (NMP) in charge of packaging, encryption and distribution inside the CDN.

The encoded media is delivered from the head end to the NMPs in the intermediate Envivio Genesis mezzanine format, enabling operators to use a single head end to handle all of their processing requirements, regardless of the number and type of target devices and networks.

"Operators are thinking about more than just the act of delivering TV entertainment to multiple screens. They are searching for solutions that will enable them to streamline workflows, add new devices to their network quickly, tackle scalable video coding needs, and address the security concerns of their content partners," said Envivio president and CEO Julien Signès.

"With our 'processing in the network' approach, Envivio is applying nearly a decade of multi-screen experience to provide answers to the questions that are critical to the long term success of operators. Our Genesis architecture provides intelligent, simplified workflows and delivers flexibility to adapt and add support for a steadily changing variety of devices, streams and formats."
