MoCA adds ZTE as associate member

SAN RAMON, USA: ZTE Corp. has joined MoCA as an associate member. ZTE provides equipment for IPTV environments and has more than 20 IPTV deployments globally, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), the largest state-owned telecoms operator in India, and PCCW, a major telecom operator in Hong Kong.

"Service providers deploying IPTV services need to know that Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) will not be compromised as subscribers' demand for more bandwidth in the home increases," said Johnny Ku, VP of Sales, ZTE USA. "Joining MoCA provides us with access to a proven, robust home entertainment networking standard that uses existing coaxial cabling to provide an unrivalled QoS and QoE."

"ZTE is an acknowledged powerhouse in the IPTV sector and has continually been working with US operators on MoCA solutions. ZTE participation complements the growing worldwide acceptance of MoCA," said Charles Cerino, President of MoCA. "MoCA is essentially IP over coax providing the reliability their technology requires with ease of installation."
