SAN JOSE, USA: Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) has announced new multi-Flash readers with a high-speed SATA interface, including a read-only model that is ideal for markets such as forensics.
The new products are the Pocket eSATA/USB DigiDrive and the Internal SATA/USB DigiDrive. Both come in a standard Read/write and a read-only version.
The Pocket eSATA/USB DigiDrive is a plug-and-play Flash memory reader/writer that comes in the size of a portable floppy drive. It connects practically any flash memory media, including the latest SDHC standard, to any computer or equipment via either high speed eSATA or USB interface. When connected to an eSATA port, any flash media can be used as a bootable device with read/write speed up to 150MB/sec.
Unlike most low cost flash card readers in the market, the Pocket eSATA/USB DigiDrive comes with upgradeable firmware to ensure compatibility with future new Flash standards. There is also a choice of a Pocket eSATA/USB DigiDrive read-only model, which is an ideal solution for forensic applications.
The Pocket DigiDrive, which offers both eSATA and USB 2.0 connections, features maximum data transfer of up to 1,500 Mbits/sec with eSATA and up to 480 Mbits/sec with USB 2.0. The Pocket DigiDrive can also read and write to 15 different popular digital media. It has four slots for direct access to Compact Flash (CF), Secure Digital (SD) and SDHC (SD 2.0), Multi Media Card (MMC), and Memory Stick (MS).
List Price is $64 for the regular and the read-only version.
The internal SATA/USB DigiDrive is Addonics advanced generation of internal Flash memory reader/writer. It is designed to mount directly into a standard 3.5" drive bay. Like the Pocket DigiDrive, the internal SATA/USB DigiDrive connects practically any flash memory media to any system or equipment via either the high speed SATA or USB interface and can be used as bootable device with read/write speed up to 150MB/sec.
The internal SATA/USB DigiDrive also comes with upgradeable firmware.
List price is $59.99 for both versions.
