Ceiba leads tablet initiative with Intel and Microsoft

USA: As mobile technology infiltrates every aspect of the enterprise, end users and IT professionals in the life sciences are searching for powerful new ways to unite lab-oriented work with tablet technology.

To this end, Ceiba Solutions, Intel and Microsoft have come together with representatives from leading pharmaceutical companies to drive a fully integrated discussion about the mobile lab of the future. This unique collaboration is designed to identify tablet use cases in the laboratory R&D environment and provide solutions based on Intel-powered devices, the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system and Ceiba software.

The collaborative effort has kicked off with the distribution of Intel-powered devices to key early adopters in the pharma space to experiment with potential uses for tablets in the lab. The Windows 8 devices are pre-loaded with two mobile software products from Ceiba designed to streamline activities and expose greater data insights on projects.

Ceiba’s applications include:
* Helium, a self-service analytics tool that integrates various databases across an enterprise to present available data consistently and serve as a single source repository.
* Labtrack, a feature rich portal that provides users with the power to manage lab equipment maintenance.
