USA: International set-top box and broadband gateways vendor Sagemcom has joined MoCA as an Associate member.
As a global player and European leader servicing over 50 operators worldwide, Sagemcom offers an extensive range of solutions: Digital STBs and DVR for all transmission media, xDSL/FTTH/cable gateways and multimedia home gateways.
"Integrating MoCA into our products will enable service providers to deliver a highly reliable in-home backbone for extending and enhancing existing Wi-Fi networks and providing the Quality of Experience that
consumers have come to expect. With a MoCA-based network, consumers can move an ever-expanding range of media content around the home quickly and easily," said Ahmed Selmani, Deputy CEO of Sagemcom Broadband.
"Their strong heritage in in-home Triple Play distribution and increasing reach in EMEA, South America and North America, makes Sagemcom a natural fit for MoCA as the world's service operators recognize MoCA technology as an important component in their connected home strategies," said Charles Cerino, MoCA president.
MoCA technology supports multiple streams of video-based content, including HDTV, 3D, gaming, and OTT - via an IP-over-coax connection to numerous in-home devices, including HDTVs, game consoles and PCs. MoCA is included in the DLNA stack and IEEE 1905.1 specification.
