LAS VEGAS, USA: Fusion-io, pioneer of a new memory tier of flash-based solid-state (ioMemory) technology, has extended its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) relationship with HP to provide the company with PCI Express-based IO Accelerators for the HP ProLiant DL and ML server line.
The Fusion-powered IO Accelerator is already available with HP’s industry-leading BladeSystem platform for use with ProLiant server blades. With the addition of this PCI Express-based offering, HP customers gain the flexibility to optimize infrastructure and accelerate applications in a variety of architectures suitable to their needs.
The new PCI Express form factor IO Accelerator will be available for use with ProLiant servers in 160 GB and 320 GB SLC capacities and 320 GB and 640 GB MLC capacities.
“We are excited to advance the future of the datacenter with HP,” said David Flynn, CEO of Fusion-io. “We are pleased to take our relationship with the company to the next level by developing the IO Accelerator for their ProLiant line and appreciate HP’s continued recognition of the consolidation, performance and reliability that ioMemory-based technologies offer the enterprise.”
“Clients require innovative technologies that improve system performance while reducing operational and capital expenses,” said Jim Ganthier, vice president of marketing, Industry Standard Servers, HP. “By offering the PCI Express-based IO Accelerator on select HP ProLiant servers, clients can take advantage of accelerated application performance as well as optimized power usage.”
Now, HP Rack, Tower and BladeSystem customers can deploy the IO Accelerator wherever there is a need to accelerate performance of I/O intensive applications and workloads, including scaling virtual machine deployments, driving faster financial transactions, serving up Web content and accelerating database and data mining performance.
