DENSO handheld barcode terminal features Windows Mobile

LONG BEACH, USA: DENSO ADC has announced the latest version of its top-of-the-line, BHT-700 Series of 1-D and 2-D wireless handheld barcode terminals.

The new BHT-710BWB-WM model 1-D barcode scanner terminal is a robust mobile computer that features the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, whose smart-device capabilities allow the unit to be used in a wide variety of mobile-application areas such as field operations, transportation and logistics, retail, manufacturing and healthcare.

The new terminal also features a fast, 624 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM, which speeds up work, as well as both Bluetooth and high-security WLAN (802.11a/b/g) wireless coverage, with up to 12 hours of continuous wireless communication from a single battery.

The terminal’s advanced image-scanning software ensures reliable reading of high-density or poorly printed barcodes, while its large depth of field and rapid-response scanning improves operator accuracy. A drop-resistant magnesium-alloy frame, which has been tested to survive a five-foot drop, gives the ruggedly designed device a high degree of durability.

Additional user-friendly features include a 3.5-inch QVGA color LCD touch screen and high-speed display graphics that make it easy to view large amounts of information, increasing user efficiency; a slim, lightweight design, to reduce operator fatigue; convenient one-hand scanning operation; and VoIP voice control, which supports voice picking.

“DENSO ADC is constantly striving to offer our customers the latest technology,” said John Doran, senior manager, Commercial and Industrial Systems. “Our new BHT-710BWB-WM barcode terminal gives them the Windows Mobile smart-device features they need to increase their efficiency and productivity.”
