LeCroy enters 8G Fibre Channel market with SierraFC M8-4 protocol analysis platform

CHESTNUT RIDGE, USA: LeCroy Corp., a leading supplier of oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers and related test and measurement solutions, has launched its latest Fibre Channel 8 Gb/s protocol analysis platform, the SierraFC M8-4.

Operating at 2, 4 and 8 Gb/s Fibre Channel signaling rates, 4 or 8 GB of recording memory, and either 2 or 4 recording channels, SierraFC M8-4 offers affordable world-class protocol analysis capabilities. Highly functional as stand-alone test systems, these versatile products also can be linked together in cascade configurations to provide additional recording channel capacity.

"The latest addition to our industry-leading Sierra family of powerful protocol analyzer products targets an emerging opportunity in advanced storage system and networking product developers," said LeCroy president and CEO Tom Reslewic.

"Designed from the ground up to address the unique characteristics of Fibre Channel protocol, the SierraFC M8-4 sets a new standard for performance, while incorporating a complete range of features in a fast, highly flexible and economical system."

SierraFC M8-4 analyzer software features an intuitive GUI (Graphical User Interface) combining easy setup and operation with flexible data analysis displays. The familiar chronological Spreadsheet View shows handshaking of primitives as well as complete frame composition. LeCroy's signature Packet View allows users to easily track Fibre Channel exchanges from end-to-end in an intuitive logical display.

SierraFC M8-4 has three additional main data display modes including, Frame Inspector, Text View, and Statistical Report, providing flexible and powerful alternatives for efficient analysis of Fibre Channel protocol environments.
