Xerox WorkCentre 7400 series based on HI Q LED

BANGALORE, INDIA: Xerox India, a part of Xerox Corp., the world's leading document management technology solutions and services enterprise, today announced the launch of three products -- Xerox WorkCentre 7425/ 7428/ 7435 based on HI Q LED technology, to gain prominence in the 11-20 ppm category.

The newly launched Xerox WorkCentre 7400 series is Xerox India’s first offering in the category. The products are designed especially for SMBs, enterprises and government.

The 14-city launch event is being termed as ‘What’s your printer’s HI Q?’

The campaign has been planned to drive the message that companies can now base their purchase decisions of printing devices basis the printer’s ‘HI Q level’ performance based on defined parameters.

With the first launch in Bangalore, Xerox India’s fourteen city launch event will engage with its channel partners and customers in other key identified markets including Kochi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Kolkata, New Delhi, Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Lucknow and Jaipur, within the next fortnight. The product series will be available in the price range of Rs. 4-6 lakh.

The HI Q LED technology is an environment friendly technology that offers competitive advantage over cost with 20% efficiency. The technology has numerous advantages over other printing technologies including better edge enhancement, high quality image resolution of 1200x2400 dpi, better registration, color correction and half toning enhancement, thereby making it the preferred printing choice customers today.

Talking about the uniqueness of HI Q LED technology, Mr. Princy Bhatnagar, Director, Office Business Group, Xerox India Limited said, “LED technology has gained prominence in the recent past due to its environment friendly features and cost efficiency. Today, LED is finding its application across different categories including traffic lights, plasma TVs, and automobile lighting, to name a few.

The HI Q LED is an upgraded version of the LED technology and it is expected to make its mark in the printing market owing to its technology innovation and product differentiation. This technology will add to Xerox India’s diversified portfolio of products and will drive innovation, moving in line with the Corporation’s core philosophy to constantly innovate for an enhanced customer experience.”

Speaking about the new products, Mr. Bhatnagar added, “According to IDC Q1 2009, the overall market size for A3 color and monochrome printers is at Rs 943 crores. We believe that there will be a foreseeable shift in demand from 1-10 ppm product category to 11-20 ppm category, within six to 10 months. Xerox WorkCentre 7400 series will satiate the upcoming demand and enable Xerox India to enhance its market share in the segment.

The 11-20 ppm category is expected to grow at 30 percent, y-o-y for the next three years and Xerox’s strategy is to lead the space by offering superior technology to its customers. The 14-city launch event will educate our partners and customers about the business potential of this unique technology, with its compelling value proposition for businesses to remain competitive, especially in today’s challenging times.”

HI Q LED technology runs on the new Xerox HI Q printhead that contains an array of 15,000 light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The array is configured in clusters of lens elements with uniform optical characteristics to provide high-resolution imaging. The LEDs flash through this lens array to form latent images on the photo receptive drum producing a high print quality.
