Outlook for worldwide digital IP, cable, and satellite STB industries in 2011 and beyond

TAIWAN: According to the MIC, Taiwan TrendTracker, in 2011, it is estimated that pay satellite STB will advance 2.5 percent year-on-year to 0.7 million units and account for 43 percent of the total satellite STB shipment.

FTA (Free To Air) satellite STB shipment volume advanced 1.7 percent to 53.8 million units and accounted for 57 percent of the total. It is anticipated that the global satellite STB shipment volume will score a 1.8 percent CAGR during the period 2010-2015.

It is anticipated that full-year worldwide satellite STB shipment value will hit approximately $4.708 billion in 2011, up 2.3 percent year-on-year.

In 2011, pay satellite STB shipment value is anticipated to reach approximately $3.297 billion, growing at 1.4 percent year-on-year and to account for around 30 percent of the total satellite STB shipment. It is anticipated that the global satellite STB shipment value will have a 1.2 percent CAGR during the period 2010-2015.
