WHIPPANY, USA: WhipTail, maker of the world’s first and most widely deployed all-flash enterprise class storage array, announced that Maxwell K. Riggsbee Jr. (Max), former CTO and GM of Brocade Communications, has joined WhipTail as vice president and chief marketing officer. Max will be tasked with leading strategic growth opportunities across marketing platforms, product line development and the enterprise.
“I am thrilled to join WhipTail at a time of tremendous growth and opportunity. I’ve seen WhipTail deploying enterprise class, SSD storage arrays to customers since 2009 – longer than any of its competitors. They have the real world experience and lessons learned to deliver tangible impact to their customers,” says Riggsbee. “It’s time to share their solutions and unique vantage point with the world.”
Riggsbee has more than 20 years of experience in distributed computing environments including application development, database infrastructure, operating systems, storage and networking, and 11 years of business strategy development. He served as chief technology officer & general manager at Brocade Communications where he was responsible for defining the broad networking strategy for Cloud driven Application Deliver, and identifying the technology trends and their impacts on the company’s strategic direction.
He served as a consultant and advisor to Elliot Management, Princeton Information, BridgeView Partners, TIAA-CREF and Data Robotics. He also held various director and vice president level roles at StorageNetworks, Societe Generale and Lehman Brothers.
“We are pleased to have such a well respected industry veteran join our team. Max’s leadership and expertise will be shared with a talented team to elevate demand for our SSD array in high-performance data centers across our target markets,” says Dan Crain, CEO, WhipTail. “Max has lived the challenges our customers face everyday, so I have no doubt he will bring this perspective and vision to drive business opportunities for WhipTail.”
