FREMONT, USA: ArcSoft Inc., the world-leading multimedia software provider, announced that its best-selling multimedia player application, TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum, together with its video up-scaling software, SimHD, are now optimized for NVIDIA CUDA acceleration on NVIDIA ION-based PCs.
Users can now enjoy a stunning Blu-ray experience and watch DVD videos in higher-definition with enhanced processing speed on netbooks and nettops PCs with NVIDIA ION.
“A year ago, we announced SimHD, ArcSoft’s upscaling technology, supporting NVIDIA CUDA architecture. At that time, SimHD required a powerful GPU to run,” said George Tang, ArcSoft’s Vice President and General Manager of Video and Home Entertainment Group. “Today, I am pleased to announce that SimHD is running on NVIDIA ION-based PCs, allowing users to enjoy Blu-ray and upscaled DVD movies on netbooks and nettops.”
“Who says you can’t watch HD video on a netbook? With the processing power of an NVIDIA ION GPU and TotalMedia Theatre with SimHD you can enjoy Blu-ray movies and superior DVD playback on netbook and nettop PCs. You can even connect them to your HDTV via HDMI for an amazing home theater experience,” said Drew Henry, general manager of the ION and GeForce business units at NVIDIA.
NVIDIA ION graphics transform netbook and nettop PCs into versatile media and entertainment centers that support stutter-free HD video, games and video editing. ION delivers up to 10x faster graphics performance than comparable systems with Intel integrated graphics.
