COSTA MESA, & SUNNYVALE, USA: Emulex Corp. and privately held ServerEngines Corp. have partnered in the delivery of converged networking solutions. The partnership is supported by a multi-year joint development and supply agreement.
Emulex's proven storage networking design, architecture and comprehensive set of drivers, combined with ServerEngines' proven Ethernet and iSCSI technology provides Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) with a high-performance, compelling platform solution for servers that are based upon the same enterprise-hardened Ethernet, iSCSI and Fibre Channel software stacks they are using today.
"Emulex has been working closely with ServerEngines for nearly a year, after careful evaluation of all 10Gb/s Ethernet players in the market, we have selected ServerEngines as a partner and we have great respect for their skills and abilities," said Jeff Benck, chief operations officer and senior vice president, Emulex. "Our collaboration has resulted in multiple tier-one OEM design wins, which speaks to the combined strength of ServerEngines' Ethernet/iSCSI and Emulex's Fibre Channel hardware and software expertise. Our jointly developed converged networking solutions are fully compatible with the seven million installed ports Emulex has shipped to date."
The combination of Emulex and ServerEngines' technologies creates a unique offering that delivers an ideal foundation for converged networking solutions, including adapters, mezzanine cards and LAN On Motherboard (LOM) solutions, which are designed to lower capital expenditures, maximize blade consolidation and enhance server virtualization environments.
"ServerEngines has a strong, collaborative partnership with Emulex for both technology and go-to-market. Combining our proven, world-class technologies allows us to deploy solutions that are unmatched in the market today," said Raju Vegesna, president and CEO, ServerEngines.
