LONDON, ENGLAND: Avanti Communications will unveil its brand new Google Glassware satellite app at the IBC Conference in Amsterdam this week.
Designed for use alongside Avanti’s proprietary ‘Avanti Mobile Assist’ app, the global satellite operator has now seamlessly integrated its satellite installation process with Google’s Glassware application.
Earlier this year, Avanti unveiled its proprietary Avanti Mobile Assist app to assist with Ka-band satellite field installations. The app optimises the installation process by supporting job allocation, antenna line-up, initiation of service and reporting for engineers.
Now, using current attitude/longitude position, the Google Glassware application will source the relative location of Avanti’s HYLAS 1 and HYLAS 2 satellites, enabled by completely hands-free alignment.

LG announces US availability for first Ultra HD 4K OLED TV
DENVER, USA: LG Electronics firmly established its OLED TV market leadership by announcing pricing and availability for the first Ultra HD OLED TVs to hit the US market. LG's cutting-edge lineup features the 77-inch class 77EG9700 and 65-inch class 65EC9700 (76.7 and 64.5 inches measured diagonally).
LG's Ultra HD 4K OLED TVs offer the ultimate in picture quality, combining the intense detail of 4K Ultra HD and the superior contrast and color accuracy that OLED technology provides. The new 77EG9700 and 65EC9700 4K OLED TVs - perfectly suited for the custom-installation market where consumers demand best-in-class products – are on display at the 2014 CEDIA Expo (Booth #140) here this week.
With LG's WRGB OLED technology each pixel is made up of four sub-pixels, which equals roughly 33 million sub-pixels working to produce the most lifelike color and level of detail. Since no backlight is required, OLED can also reach black levels that are immeasurable, providing an infinite contrast ratio, one of the key elements of display performance.
Also unique to OLED is the revolutionary new design approach that drastically reduces the thickness to an amazingly thin, 4.5 millimeters at their thinnest point, which is the depth of just a few credit cards. These models also feature a subtle curved screen and due to the televisions' frameless, bezel-less "Cinema Screen" design, the picture on the screen virtually stretches from edge-to-edge.

Airbiquity broadens Choreo connected car content portfolio
SEATTLE, USA: Airbiquity, a global leader in connected car services delivery, has added two additional premium content providers, Reuters and Yelp, to its Choreo cloud-based connected car services delivery platform.
With these integrations, both Reuters, the world's largest multimedia news provider, and Yelp, the company that connects consumers with local businesses, will be made available to the company's automotive manufacturer customers deploying the Driver Experience infotainment delivery offering. Leveraging the Airbiquity content portfolio, automotive manufacturers can introduce Reuters and Yelp content into their branded connected car programs meeting the infotainment needs of their drivers while helping to differentiate their in-vehicle experience from competitors.
As with other applications which have recently been integrated into the Choreo platform, both the Reuters and Yelp apps will feature tight integration between the application services of the content providers and prevailing smartphone technologies, including support for wireless Bluetooth hands-free calling and native vehicle navigation system integration. This level of integration serves to minimize driver distractions as manual text search is disabled in favor of voice search if the system senses the vehicle is in motion.
